Jangali Maharaj (1806 - 1890), also known as Sadguru Jangali Maharaj or Guru Maharaj, was a Maharashtrian saint who lived in Pune, India, in the late 19th Century. "Jungle" (Jangali) "King" (Maharaj) is an eponym of Shiva. A major commercial road in Pune (Jangali Maharaj Road) is named after him.〔Roads in Pune#Jangli Maharaj Road (J. M. Road)〕 It is believed that he was born in the state of Baroda (Vadodara of present day Gujarat) in the early 18th Century.
